5. Location Data, Identity Verification, Fraud Prevention & Security

Location Information:

To provide our services safely and securely, PikUp may collect and process location information from your device when you use the Platform. Depending on your permissions and the services you use, this may include:

  • Real-time GPS location while using active services (such as rides, deliveries, or driver availability)

  • Background location information while a driver is actively available for services, where permitted by your device settings and applicable law

You may manage location permissions through your device settings; however, certain Platform features may not function properly without access to location services.

Location Pattern Analysis:

With your permission, PikUp may analyze historical location patterns to help verify account information and improve fraud detection. Our systems may identify recurring operating locations or areas where an account is regularly active. These patterns may assist in verifying registration information, identifying inconsistencies, and strengthening platform security. Location analysis is only one factor among many used during the verification process and is not treated as proof of a user's legal residence or official address.

Continuous Security Monitoring:

To maintain platform integrity, PikUp may monitor account activity for security purposes. This may include detecting frequent changes in operating country or region, unusual login locations, unexpected device changes, multiple accounts associated with the same device or location, suspicious travel or usage patterns, inconsistent operating behavior, and attempts to bypass identity verification or security controls.

If unusual activity is detected, PikUp may request additional verification, temporarily restrict account features, or suspend/deactivate accounts while investigations are conducted.

Automated Risk Assessment:

PikUp may use automated systems to evaluate account risk by analyzing multiple signals, including identity verification data, device information, payment verification, account activity, and location history. These systems help protect users and service providers, prevent fraud and unauthorized transactions, detect fake or duplicate accounts, improve verification accuracy, and support compliance and platform safety. Automated assessments may be reviewed or supplemented by authorized PikUp personnel.
